While going through a life-changing event, I went from a stay-at-home mom, to a single parent who needed to provide for myself and my children. I went back to school and earned my Masters of Education degree. While I enjoy working with children, I realized that working with animals is more satisfying to me. My pets were a comfort to me during the challenging times, and I knew that I loved being with and caring for animals. So, I started working as a contractor for a pet sitting company. While working for this business, I learned that it was not maintaining their insurance and bonding which I feel are imperative to professional pet sitting. I knew I needed to start my own business. So, I combined my passion for animals and for helping people and on May 9, 2016, I began Hug A Love Pet Sitting, LLC.
I've been professionally pet sitting since 2008. I have lived with birds (cockatiel, parakeets), fish, lots of cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits, and gerbils. I have experience giving many kinds of medicines and subcutaneous fluids to dogs and cats alike. I volunteer and foster for Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic. I am the primary pet sitter and owner of Hug-a-Love Pet Sitting, LLC. Our business is bonded and insured, and we are certified in Pet First Aid. We are members of Pet Sitters International as well as National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. and we are a trusted company that has been caring for pets in the Fort Collins/Loveland/Windsor and surrounding area within Larimer County.
I've been a volunteer with animals for about 10 years and have had cat babies and dog cousins my whole life. In addition, I have done a ton of foster work with animals (19 in total), even adopting a couple along the way. I presently volunteer with Fort Collins Cat Rescue, CLICK and Animal House and I simply love it. Kitty cuddles and dog walks are such a joy, honestly one of the happiest parts of my day. I find animals to be my biggest life's passion and can't dream of a better job than working with them.
I grew up outside of Aspen, Colorado, where I enjoyed hiking, biking, skiing, horseback riding, and much more. One of my favorite places to hike is the Maroon Bells, if you haven't been I highly recommend it!
I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2010 at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. I then moved back to my home state of Colorado to complete my master's degree (2012) and Ph.D. (expected 2018) in Economics at Colorado State University.
I grew up in Fort Collins and have spent most of my life surrounded by pets. I have been pet sitting for several years and I have experience with dogs, cats, reptiles, rodents, donkeys, and chickens.
I have always loved caring for animals and being able to spend time outdoors. Besides pet sitting, I am a full-time student at CSU and I am currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Art with a concentration in Printmaking.
